SERENADE ON THE BANK OF OYA RIVER

Serenade on the bank of Oya river

In the whistling of the breeze,
On the icy shore of Oya river,
The waters heaved and gurgled
Arpeggios played by the divine piano Muses,
The moon stared at the resting rivers
Like a lover gazing at the road.

Only the sun enjoys the companion of humans,
The moon enjoys the company of the stars,
The perfume of your breath are incense for my larynx,

My Lady!
I must ask,
What use is the moon
Without the ornamental stars?
What Muse use the starless moon?
What Muse use the sunless noon
